The Young Heart of Holland Village

The heart of Holland Village in the 70's, 80's and 90's seemed concentrated on shopping and the local eateries and wet market. A great centre for the young expatriate population and their parents for bits and pieces for school and to meet up with friends. Now Holland Village has its own MRT station and is full of bars and unusual places to eat as well as cafes but during the day its pretty quite and all bars are gearing up for the night ahead. Obviously the new look of Holland Village's Wine and Dine Spot is targeted for the busy evenings and long nights.

From looking for unique places in this little F&B community I had heard good reviews on this place called Cha Cha Cha with many people saying that they will come back for more. From its Mexican theme and authentic reviews with affordable prices I thought that this would be the place for the younger generation and where they could hangout.

I arrived at Cha Cha Cha in the late afternoon and they were busy setting up for the insurgence of clientele which would come by storm as the evening sets in. The manage seemed tired but was happy to bring me the menu, let me take pictures and offer me an ice cold glass of water and went about his preparations.

Cha Cha Cha is located centrally in the busy bar and pub area of Lorong Mambong. At night this is flocked by the many expats enjoying some drinks at the end of their busy day. It's not just the expats but I was told by a local resident that for the young adults this is their main place to meet for special festivities and fun nights out.

Cha Cha Cha has recently had a refurbishment and renovation and appears to have taken on the bar theme with many colourful bottles on display behind the bar area. There is though plentiful seating for the hungry!

From the menu they show off their Cha Cha Cha Combinados, Taco Salad and Chimichanga. The menu and style hear looks like a 'Quick Mexican' 'Short and Simple' so you can continue your night ahead!

Other eye openers are the Enchiladas and the Buritos and of course the Tortillas and Fajitas. They have a nice selection of Frozen Margaritas for the hot and humid evenings and after the long day before. Plus a sound selection of foreign beers, spirits and wines. Who could not do with a Sangria to wash down your hungry appetite?

Well for the young the prices look reasonably priced so why not take a break away from the indoor food centre and spoil yourselves on the weekend or in the evening during the week?

Relaxed music and open ambience to meet the chitta chatta of the neighbouring surroundings. Be one of the crowd and sample something hot and spicy Mexican Style!
