Located at the Singapore river on Robertson Blue, Robertson Quay for fresh bites and bakes this new concept boulangerie, bistro and café has been opened to suit the laidback atmosphere of Robertson Quay. It's an idyllic location for a relaxing riverside dining experience with freshly prepared and baked breads and pastries, with seasonal ingredients and light meals and a curated beverage list.

Fresh bread

Melanie and Severine Ng (the former as director and running the daily operations of this establishment) with it's name 'Anthesis' originating from the process of the flowering part of a plant from the opening of the bud. Melanie is no stranger to the local F&B industry from managing the establishment Caramel Patisserie & Café at Handy Road where she was also a partner in the business.

Our breakfast and brunch menu items are well balanced and lightly seasoned to retain the natural flavours of the ingredients for wholesome yet satisfying meals. Seating 70 people boasting a rustic interior with wood and steel décor sourced from around Asia with ceramic flooring adorned with floral motifs. Wooden beams with birdcage pendant lighting fittings with iron-wrought mirrors add to the appeal. Spacious alfresco dining is shaded by a nearby tree shading visitors from the sunlight in the afternoon.

Anthesis is a lovely spot for a power breakfast to get you on the ball in the morning or for a laid back brunch to whilst your day away in the afternoon hours. A quick cuppa on the go can also be placed at the takeaway counter. Freshly prepared and baked bread can be purchased for dining in or take away. Seasonal ingredients included in this fresh bread include pumpkin seed, dark rye, herb, multi-grain, wholemeal, walnut and olive and the international bread types are Italian ciabatta, French brioche and croissant and the American rye and Pullman loaves. Homemade preserves can be served with the selection from the bakery, bread platters with cheese, hummus, orange marmalade and strawberry jam. Eggs can be done how you choose with the selection of bread and as sandwiches and the house speciality the 'Tuna Tataki' (pan-seared tuna topped with avocado salsa on freshly baked bread). Supervising the bread making with 19yrs of experience in the industry is the head baker Gan Eng Ling.

Such sweet treats as 'Almond Frangipane Fruit Tart', 'Melty Lemon Profiteroles', Passionfruit Yuzu Meringue Tart' and 'Vanilla Raspberry Charlotte' and classic favourites as the 'Blueberry Cheesecake', 'Carrot Cake', 'Sea Salt Caramel Chocolate Tart' and 'Macarons'. Desserts ranging from 'Tea-Infused White Acai Berry Jelly' or the 'Fuji Apple Ice Souffle' and the 'Bread Pudding with Ice-Cream'.

You can enjoy the 'Hearty Breakfast' all day from the brunch specials to sample the full-works! Or try the 'Mini-Breakfast Burgers' or 'Banana Split Brioche French Toast Stack' or a more green 'Anthesis House Salad'. At the same time sample the exclusive blend of Artisan Teas from Art of Tea, California or the 'Anthesis Coffee Blend' handpicked by Melanie herself. For after hours you could try the Belgian Lindemans, African Mongozo or Belgian Wittekerke and Bavik.
